    Hey guys,

I have just read this thread: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...t-xbmc-plugins-to-mediaportal-plugins.114762/ and a crazy idea comes into my mind.:)
It's possible to create a plugin that allow MediaPortal to use XBMC's plugins?
In this way we can access to many XBMC's plugin and, maybe, when the MediaPortal's plugin creators know which
will be the most downloaded same of them can be rewritten in C# directly for MediaPortal.

What to you think about this idea?;)

What's calling "plugin" in XBMC is just another site in OnlineVideos Mediaportal plugin/ So whole idea is pointless. And ofc impossible.

    Sorry, there is a misunderstanding.
I refer to that thread only as an example. My idea is more generic and much more complex (I know).

Not rewriting one plugin, but a MediaPortal's plugin that allow MediaPortal users to acces to XBMC's plugins without instal XMBC itself. A kind of "XBMC virtual plugins machine", I don't know how to call it and if it's possible.

    It's not so simple.
First of all I don't want this, very difficult thing, only for me. I would like that many users can be use this opportunity.

Which plugin? I don't know, I never used XBMC. I would like to build a NAS with FreeNAS as O.S. and I have seen that some of the plugins for FreeNAS work with XBMC and none with MediaPortal.
I know that FreeNAS's plugins are written in phyton as XBMC's plugins but I think that is possible to write a "Mediaportal version" of these plugins.
The problem is that in this way every plugin need to be rewritten, with the "XBMC virtual plugins machine" (if it's possible to create it) only 1, very big, plugin need to be created.

I think your barking up an infinate tree, i can't see any dev taking this on there is just not much use for this for most of mediaportals users.

Maybe, I don't know. Create an "XBMC virtual plugins machine" it's too difficult and the benefits are not enought.

Well in this case these are the plugins that, if is possible, I'd like to have in MediaPortal.

I have to say a thing, these plugins are usefull to link XBMC to FreeNAS (an open source operating system for NAS) in origin, what I would like to have is the MediaPortal interface as in origin they have an XBMC interface
