Hi, this thread may be obsolete, but I recently discovered this problem which I haven't found any easy solution in our forums yet. I decided to do a little research and came up with some pretty easy ways.
Whats the problem: When using a remote (I don't know if the problems exist with all remotes, I personally use a standard mce remote) with a green windows button for the WMC it is possible to prevent the WMC to start when hitting the button, but instead starting MP, we all know that.
But when I setted this up I discovered that MP starts without focus, so hitting buttons on the remote don't take any effect. There are some threads out how to control MP with a remote even without focus. But here is an easy way how to give MP remote when started:
Go to your Registry (WINDOWS + R -> type: regedit)
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Control Panel > Desktop
Look for the string called "ForegroundLockTimeout", double click it.
Select "Decimal" and set value to 0.
Save it and restart your pc.
Hit the green button on your remote, MP will start WITH focus.
Whats the Disatvantage? This change causes every program to gain focus when they start. But until now I haven't realised any disturbance while using the pc.
