Hi Everyone

Can you guys check out the following specification and let me know if I am likely to have any problems!

My plan is to use Media Portal

I need it to do the following:

1, Record Freeview TV and watch a different channel at the same time.
2, Support HDTV going forward (What garphics card do I need for HDTV and what graphics card do i need for non-HDTV)

CPU : Intel Pentium 4 630 "LGA775 Prescott" 3.0GHz (800FSB) with HT Technology
Memory: Corsair 1GB DDR2
Motherboard : MSI 915P Combo2-F (LGA775) PCI-Express Motherboard
Sound Card : On board

Grpahics Card : Dont know

Remote Control : Microsoft Windows XP Media Centre 2005 Remote Controller
DVD Writer : Any resonably priced DVD writer
Hard Drive : Any SATA 160GB
Wireless Keyboard/Mouse : Any resonably priced combination
Case : Any nice looking case which allows full sized ATX boards (Maybe).
TV Card : Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT PCI-E Dual Digital Freeview TV Tuner

OR AMD Setup

CPU : AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 90nm (Socket 939)
Memory : Corsair 1GB DDR
Motherboard : Asus A8N-VM CSM Micro ATX (Socket 939) PCI Express

Should i go for AMD or INTEL or dosent it really matter?

Am I missing anything? Will this system be powerful enough ? Could I cut back on anything and save money and still be able to do HD?

Thanks for all your help

Well i would say Hi but i could not get my tongue around the name

anyway seriously either processors are more than capable of running MP
and i would say Cost/personal preferences tend to rule the roost nowadays. as far as the graphics look at http://www.giga-byte.com/VGA/Products/Products_GV-NX66256DP.htm. I have the agp version and believe me its Faaast and no FAN, peace and quiet HEAVEN.
Until the surround sound kicks in.
