Hi

firstly I would like to thank this forum and all its members for all the great advice and support it has given.

Also I would like to apologies If i am duplicating an existing thread on this topic.

I have recently under taken a project to convert my exisitng PC into one that will enable me to watch TV, play HD video files (eg mkv, wmv9 etc) and record live TV etc.

I have a MSI K9AGM2-FIH motherborad (onboard radeon X1250 graphics)
2GB DDR RAM (OCZ)
a 45w AMD 4200 dual core
ANTEC case with 350 earthwatts poer supply.
2x 500GB 7200RPM 16MB cache HDDs
Techno trend DVB-C card

I am using vista 32bit

Now I have managed to install MP no probs. Configuired so it picks up tv just fine.
Now the issues I have are mainly with Picture quality. I have tried both VGA output and HDMI in my samsng 37 LCD
On standard def channess the pic seems to lack a bit of sharpness and did seem a bit washed out through VGA. But the colours were better in HDMI but still not sharp like on my cable box picture.
HD was ofcourse very good but suffered from a lot of 'NOISE' on the picture.
I have tried different codec EG FFDshow and tried to tweak and configurie the properties in that too but to not much effect. I also used ATI catalyst to enhance the pic quality to not much effect.

I would like to make this PC my main source of TV but vastly need to enahnce pic quality to at least that of a cable box.

Any suggestions.
My thoughts are that it must be the onboard graphics card which as redeon X1250

Big thanks for all the support
