Second screen support

Great plugin. I had just started looking for something similar to the WWiTV plug-in and the NetFlix plug-in to support Hulu. My problem is that I am using a second monitor to view MP stuff. So far I don't see how to have the hulu window open on anything other than the main monitor. I'll keep trying, but any advice would be appreciated.

Looks like the plug-in launches a new browser. The way this is handled with the NetFlix plugin is to launch a new browser from a special location (C:\Program Files\NetFlix_Remote). This way, the special browser can opened on the second monitor.

This plugin works mostly... And I'd greatly prefer something like this to hulu-desktop.

1.Sometimes it complains about an error downloading from the net... (And thus certain shows don't work)
2.It'll only display the a limited most recent number of episodes for shows that I know have more...
3.Also Shows appear more than once in the list sometimes?

Thanks for all your work :)
Any suggestions?

    uses 64 bit browser?

Just tried this plugin. Great idea, but apparently it's using a 64-bit browser on my system (Vista 64).

Unfortunately, Adobe Flash Player still hasn't a 64-bit version, and since Hulu requires Flash for playback, nothing will play.:(

    Are there alternative's to this?

    Great Plugin

    Hulu Plugin works, Thanks!!!!!!

I just have a couple of issues or sugestions if possible.
1.- I can´t move anything with my msn remote, not even volume, each time a try to Vol + or - it opens Hulu desktop again.
2.- At the end of the show you need to manually close Hulu desktop, not a big deal, but it will be nice to have it close automatically.

    Thanks

I've found the bugs and did away with them. Some of the advertisements ask you to pick from 3, if it tries to go to fullscreen too fast, you can make it wait longer in the plugin's config.

The updated version is in the first post.

It uses iexplorer.exe from "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer", which would be 64-bit if you use a 64-bit OS. In order for it to play in 32-bit mode, it would have to launch from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer". I will make a setting for this in the next version, maybe in a few days. I'm also thinking about adding support for Hulu's movies too.

    Nice Start

Very nice start to a very promising plugin.
    It works, but is limited.

1.) Repeated: A limited number of shows are displayed despite many more being available thru the website or desktop application
2.) A search feature is greatly needed: I'd much rather see an implementation similar to Hulu Desktop, scrolling through the alphabetical list is tedious.
3.) It actually launches the web-browser to hulu.com with no toolbar or address bar, etc. Not my favorite way to go. Using the browser sort of defeats the whole 'native' option.

1.) Repeated: A limited number of shows are displayed despite many more being available thru the website or desktop application

The reason for this is because when I initially started the plugin for myself, I only wanted shows that had complete episodes to be listed. So, I parsed the information on hulu.com/browse/alphabetical/episode to get everything with complete episodes. I made it not display the clips even if the show has some. I could get all of the shows from hulu.com/browse/alphabetical/clips if I wanted every show they had, with or without episodes, SNL, etc. Maybe for the next version. :D

2.) A search feature is greatly needed: I'd much rather see an implementation similar to Hulu Desktop, scrolling through the alphabetical list is tedious.

I was actually planning on doing that in the future. When I started the plugin it was for me and my girlfriend's personal use, but now that other people are beginning to use it, I guess it's time to tidy up a bit. I'm also thinking about sorting by genre.

3.) It actually launches the web-browser to hulu.com with no toolbar or address bar, etc. Not my favorite way to go. Using the browser sort of defeats the whole 'native' option.

Sadly, this is kind of the only way for now. You can't directly load the video into MP because Hulu doesn't allow this, but I'll be sure to change it whenever they do.

    Install Problem

Could someone please elaborate where to point the zip file - I tried to unzip, which resulted in the following which I interpeted to be to "unzip to mediaportal's install directory":

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Installer\huluplugin 0.6\
    \Plugins\
    \ skins\
    HuluPlugin.xml

Then what am I supposed to do?
