    Hi all,

    I think mediaportal is not able to recognize my double hvr-1300 because the "dev_id" in the regedit of each tv cards is not the same as the one in the capturecardsdefinition.xml. Infact, in my system setup, I had two subdirectory (one for each hvr-1300 card) in "ven_14f1&dev_8802&subsys_96010070&rev_05" (as you can see in the attachment), meanwhile I should have two directory called "ven_14f1&dev_8802&subsys_96000070&rev_05" and "ven_14f1&dev_8802&subsys_96010070&rev_05".
    So my question is: do I have to edit manually capturecardsdefinition.xml? And how?

    Please help me!

    Mameo,

    Your registry attachment shows the subsys as "96000070" which is the same as mine, I can't see the subsys "96010070" in your registry.

    You can use Windows Notepad to edit the capturecardsdefinition.xml file.

    To really confirm which filter definitions from the capturecardsdefinition.xml file are being used by MediaPortal try editing the 'commercialname' part of the capture card definition you think is being used for the digital part of your cards. You can then see your edited text when you run MediaPortal Configuration (Setup) and look at Television - Capture Cards.

    I hope this helps.

    In fact, according to capturecardefinitio.xml, I should have the values 96000070 and 96010070 as device id of the two hvr-1300, in practice should have a situation such as regedit reported in attachment (make with an image editor). You agree with me?

    Mameo,

    You should just be trying to get the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml to match your hardware. Your hardware device id's are what you are seeing in the registry. I believe the two device id's in the capturecardsdefinition.xml (96000070 and 96010070) are different Hauppauge HVR-1300 hardware revisions.
    Did you manage to create the graph using Graphedit?
    Previously you said the devid changes after every reboot, what exactly is changing?
    Perhaps you can un-install one of the cards and then confirm the filters being used for the analogue part, in a similar way to that which I suggested for the digtal part.

    In fact, that's what I'm trying to do..

    In attachment I report a part of the original capturecardsdefinition.xml. How do you modify this file in agreement with my regedit file?
    Did you manage to create the graph using Graphedit?
    I tryed, but, without success.. I think I did some mistakes..
    Previously you said the devid changes after every reboot, what exactly is changing?
    No, the devid change only after the first boot, the id of the cards on the nexts boot is always the one I reported in the regedit screenshoot posted 2 times ago.

    Mameo,

    I think the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml has the correct entries for your cards with the devid="ven_14f1&dev_8800&subsys_96000070&rev_05".

    I can only suggest, if you have already tried all the different procedures listed in this forum thread, that you have another go with Graphedit.
    I'm attaching the graph that MediaPortal creates for my HVR-1300 analogue. I did this by having MediaPortal running, and then with Graphedit menu options 'File' and 'Connect to Remote Graph...' and then tried the different items until I found the analogue card.
    Perhaps you might find something if you tried to manually create a similar graph (with your own Decoders, I use NVIDIA) then inserted 'Video Renderer' instead of 'Video Mixing Renderer 9', set the Hauppauge WinTV 88x Tuner with a right-click and Filter Properties to tune it to a broadcast frequency, then 'play' the graph.
    When I do this I then get an ActiveMovie Window which shows the analogue TV.

    Again I wish you luck in finding a solution.

    I have also a Hauppauge Nova-T card and a Hauppauge HVR-1300 hybrid card. I can get both cards working together in MP, but if I make a reboot of the system I get the error message "Unable to create graph" for the analog part of the HVR-1300.
    After that, I went to Windows Device Manager (how Wombat-UK described) and uninstalled the drivers of Nova-T, shown as Hauppauge WinTV 88x (DVB-T+IR), then scanned for hardware changes, the PC found the Nova-T and automatically installed the drivers and I had my two cards working on DVB-S (Nova-T) and also the HVR-1300 card with analogue and DVB-T, but after a reboot of the system I have the same problem again. What can I do to solve the problem.

    Hi baerkalk,
    I know that Mameo solved the problem with the help of dfdario over at the GB-PVR forum, see the link in my post earlier in this thread dated 2007-07-07.
    Other than that I can only pass on the advice I was given which is shown in this thread.
    Good luck.

    Hi all,

    Sorry, but still I don't solve the problem, infact my htpc works fine with 2 hauppauge hvr-1300 only with GB-PVR and the tricks posted by dfdario. Mediaportal recognize both of my hauppauge card, but as bearkalk said, sometimes on reboot I still had "unable to create graph for this device", or in the worst case my system freeze.
    For now the only solution I found is use only one hvr-1300.

    Hello,

    I found, if I reboot the system the following entries in the registry are swaped

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\hcw88bda\Enum]
    "0"="Stream\\HCW88BDA.M92xx\\5&1f56005&5&1"
    "1"="Stream\\HCW88BDA.M94xx\\5&51e9c5b&0&2"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HCW88XBAR\Enum]
    "0"="Stream\\HCW88BAR.CFG92\\5&1f56005&5&0"
    "1"="Stream\\HCW88BAR.CFGOX\\5&51e9c5b&0&0"

    If I swap the HCW88XBAR entry after reboot and then start the Mediaportal again, everthing works fine. I can use the analog and digital part of the HVR1300 and the DVB-S of the NOVA-S-plus.
    Perhaps somebody can help me to solve the problem.
