HVR-1600 Question (1 Viewer)

I am making a couple assumptions in asking this question. Firstly that this is the correct forum, and also that my couple searches for a thread on this were thorough enough to insure that this question was not asked already.

A couple months back I purchased a hvr1600 and loved it, until I tried to use it with media portal (which I find superior to other similar applications). I tried, in vain, to get it working properly. After several weeks of frustration I eventually gave up and switched to (and paid for) SageTV. I can say only that I can watch tv with it, which is satisfying. I do, however, dislike it for everything else. I miss being able to use Media Portal. So, now I find myself wondering how complete support for this card is, now. Can I scan and tune channels with it? Is guide support there? What does it take to get any or all of these things working?

Hi breaker, it works quite well in tve3 and I believe tve2. If you use the schedules direct plugin from patrick, you can also get epg data. Schedules direct costs $20 a year.

I appreciate your quick reply, and the concision with which you answered my question. However, I have dialup Internet access only, so this is not a solution for me yet. I need to be able to put epg from the channel feed.
