Hi,

I have a Compro DVB-T TV card, which can be used to watch analogue or digital TV.

Can Media Portal scan both signals and store BOTH sets of channels? If so, how do I switch between analogue and DVB-T when watching TV?

The reason is that my digital reception doesn't pick up some of the analogue channels.

I couldn't find this information on the forum.
Thanks.

It can, but you must install both cards in configuration. The dvbt portion will come up as one card and the analogue as the other. The analogue card will use a software encoder so you must take notice of the extra requirements.

When you tune channels, you tune using both cards. You will find both channel types that way.

You dont switch between them as MP will do that for you automatically. All you do is select the channel and MP will use the appropriate card.

Yep, the Compro card uses software for the analog side of things. As such, it needs to have the support added in MP before it will be recognised.
Follow these steps https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=12846 and mPod will be able to add the support. Bear in mind that you need a reasonably powerful CPU ->above 2.4GHz.

You won't be able to use both cards at the same time though, so no recording DTV and watching ATV at the same time on the same card.

Okay, so that would explain why I can't get any analgue channels at the moment - I've installed 0.2 RC4.
I'll check out that link as soon as I can.

I only get some digital channels in my area, so I'll need to rely on analogue for some channels (although I know a hybrid card is not the same as a dual tuner card).

I have an AMD Athlon64 3200+ - is that good enough for the software encoding of the analogue signal?

    Thanks for the advice, guys.
