MediaPortal Version: V0.2.3.0
Windows Version: XP SP2
CPU Type: cpu via eden 1 ghz fanless
HDD: 120 GB
Memory: 1 GHZ
Motherboard: JETWAY mini-itx
Video Card: S3 BOARD INTEGRATED
Sound Card: BOARD INTEGRATED
1. TV Card: I DO NOT USE IT
HTPC Case: I BUILT IT
Remote: MICROSOFT MCE

I think media portal is the best media center software and I used it with other hardware configuration with joy and no problem but with my last pc that is very small and silent I cannot watch my avi video files using media portal but I can watch them with windows media player or other software like Meedio or Nero.

Note that I made the installation of windows and media portal as suggested by media portal site and I am sure I did it the correct way as I did the same with other computer and everything was ok.

I know the cpu is only 1 ghz and is under mp requirement but I also know people who use mp with Duron 700 cpu ! and you can be sure that my pc is faster than a Duron 700 ! maybe the hardware problem is in another device...

My final questions are: why I cannot watch video with mp and I can with media player ? how can I solve this problem ?
Thanks to everybody for help !

One important thing: the avi file does not start at all, it is not slow or bad, it does not start !

FX 5200 should be a agp video card and I cannot install it as the board has only pci slots...
The integrated video card should have an "internal agp 8x performance and 2d/3d graphic engine" and it works well outside mp.

S3 has never worked with MP, as it's not a directx8\9\10 card which MP relies on.

This is far more important than cpu\ram.

    Sorry

Do you know or somebody knows how can I install another video card using my pci slots ?
maybe there is an adapter ? or could I find something external by usb ?

you can buy pci gfx cards with modern specs, but they are more expensive than regular ones.
Most PC stores will sell a PCI 5200 or 6200 gfx card for not *too* much more than an AGP or PCIe type.
