Back from vacation, skied my frustration away, got back onto this.

I had hoped, with years of MP tweaking experience, to be able to create a stable MP 1.0.2 installation on the Zotac quickly, but not so. Thus I decided not to put more effort into this, and rather put my energy into 1.1.0 RC1.

The disadvantage of course is that I then have to update the TV server and the other clients as well and there is no easy way back. Scary, definitely scary.

So I installed 1.1.0 RC on the Zotac but disabled the TV client plug-in for now.

Got a working installation, including StreamedMp and MovingPictures, will have to do some more tweaking. HD plays fine, streaming m2ts or MP4 files from the media server. I don't see much difference in MP, but I'm impressed with what the StreamedMP and MovingPictures guys have done!

The HP MCE remote works out of the box, but I want to use it also to blast the Z5500 amplifier. On the living room setup I use HIP, but that does not want to work with this version of the HP h/w. What is the minimum IRSS implementation I need to do this?

Will post more pictures as soon as the setup is cleaned up a bit.

Scary, defenitely scary. Fears came true.

I migrated the TV tuners to the media server and installed TV server RC1 to integrate the TV server and the media server and I enabled the TV client on the new Zotac client, works great.

But (there is always a but), updating the other two clients in the house failed. I'm seeing the same problem as I have had with MP 1.0.2; when starting live TV I get a still image and then nothing. This on both those clients. MP does not crash, life TV can be stopped as usual. The logs don't show any warnings or errors. This happens on a fresh MP install, with nothing added (no plugins, no skins) and the absoluut minimum configuration (TV server name and Video folder) to get going. This issue was never solved for me on MP 1.0.2 other than through trial and error with fresh XP installs.

So I will continue the yourney with trail and error XP installs for these two clients. Or should I first update to RC2?

Didn't have any luck so far.

Also a fresh XP install and minimum MP 1.1.0 RC1 setup showed the problem. So still no working set-up on two of my clients.

I will make a bug report asking for help again, hoping to get more response than before.

I tried RC2, but that does not work on an RC1 TV server ('unknown error'), I take it that is to be expected.

Updating everything to RC2 seems a risky strategy too, now that I see the update reports.

Don't quite know where to go from here.

You still suffer from the issue that you only get a still live TV image on your clients without a crash? Have you tried changing codecs? I had problems with Live TV until I used the Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 codec that comes with SAF 4 unlocked. Maybe you should give this a try.

I know you had a look through your log files already, but you may want to post them here anyway.

I have tried changing codecs without success. Same codecs works on same h/w on other boot with MP 1.0.2 against TV server 1.1.0 RC1 .

I posted a report with logs in the Mediaportal 1, TV section. But I have told that there is no point to report on RC1 anymore :)

You should not mix client/server versions. Use the same version on both client and server. (This is in the docs/wiki)

Yes, of course I know that. Hence the surprise that the MP 1.0.2 client did work against the MP 1.1.0 RC1 TV server and the MP 1.1.0 RC1 client did not.

More importanly is showed that the issue is not only with the HD 4350 h/w, the catalyst drivers, and the codec, but that MP 1.1.0 RC1 plays a spoiling role somehow as well.

Many details of the progress in the promlem report thread.

    AW: I couldn't beleive my ears ...

Currently I don't know how to help you. MP 1.1.0.0 RC2 is a very stable and good piece of software now. I've installed numerous clients and servers the latetest months and every setting works like a charm. I used cards from hauppauge, technisat, technistar.
Streaming from a dedicated tv-server isn't also a problem using the latest versions(RC1,RC2 or newer svn's).
The only thing I enabled(which is IMHO essential for enjoying the tv-mode) is "nortsp"...instructions can be found in the forum :).
    Good luck!

Well, the problem is the combination of the ATI HD 4350 h/w and it's catalyst driver, the MPC or ffdshow codec, VMR9 and MP 1.1.0 RC1.

On the client with NVIDIA ION h/w there is no issue.
With the ATI codec it works, but I do not like the image quality.
When using EVR is works, but there are other problems, no surprise under XP.
    With MP 1.0.2 it works.

For now I have solved it by using the ATI codec on the clients with ATI h/w. I'll wait for RC3 and then try to go back to the MPC codec.

My super home cinema (the ZOTAC MAG with NVIDIA ION) works fine for now.
