Hi everybody,

I had exactly the same issue when installing RC2, I have no idea how I resolved it at this time, and here it comes again with RC3.

Here is my problem.

When installing a 'fresh' new MediaPortal, the only option available in the 'television' section is TV Client. The problem is that....I don't want any TV Server/Client on my system. I just watch television from this only computer.

I tried the different options during the installation process, the 'one click installation', went through 'advanced installation' choosing the option 'singleseat installation', and I even tried the 'dedicated TV-server', but when I launch MP configuration and go under the 'television' section, the only thing I have is TV Client!

I just don't get it! I have 2 tuners hauppauge (HVR1600 and HVR1800), but I can't set any TV!

I did everything I could think of...I completely deleted MP RC2 before to install RC3, I deleted all the keys containing 'mediaportal' in my registry, reinstalled MP RC3...it always comes back with this TV Client menu.

Any help is welcome!

:D

    Hi,

    if
you've installed the TV-Server then MediaPortal configuration is the wrong place to configure your tv cards.

Just run Start -> Programs -> Team MediaPortal -> TV Server -> TV Server configuration

    Thanks Flo,

I didn't really did what you said, but you just made me see 'uninstall TV server' in the start menu.
So I uninstalled it, went back in the MP configuration and this time I had 'Capture cards', 'TV Channels'....what I was expecting!!

    Thanks!!

    Just out of interest:
did the link to TV Server Configuration exist ?

If so, you did uninstall it,
as a result the inbuild tv engine becomes active
and you get your configurations options in MediaPortal Configuration.

Sorry to re-open this discussion, but I have the exact same problem. I can't see the TV cards option.

In my start menu it doesn't say either TV server config or TV server uninstall!

I do have 2 cards working properly, so it should see them i think.

    Henk99,

Do you have exactly like me? When you're under the configuration do you just have 'TV Client?

If it the case and you don't see TV server in the start menu, maybe go in C:\program files\team mediaportal\ and check if you have a 'TV Server' folder. Maybe you would find the uninstall.exe there...
If you can't find it (mine is gone now so I can't tell you), maybe try through 'add or remove program' in the control panel.

    Let me know.

    Flo, you asked me:

I don't really understand the question...

    Hi,

what I basically wanted to know is if the TV Server
    was installed or not.
If yes, then everything behaved correctly,
if not, then there might have been someting broken.

    :D for reporting back
