I want "Now playing" as default view - HELP (1 Viewer)

Hi all

Im new to media portal, but it is really awsome ... used to SageTV, but now im thinking of converting.

My issue is that i want the "now playing" view when i start to playing music.

The way to do it today is to select song, press play and then press the "Now playing" button.

But is there any way to make MP select "Now playing" view automatically when i press play or after some seconds .....?

MP Configuration:
Music -> Misc Settings -> Jump on "Play Now"

Tried that, but i get no action.

I tried all settings (Always, if multiple items and other ....)

But i get no action what so ever when i press enter on a song and it starts playint.

Newest SVN from 8/8 ...

I can get it to work by typing the "p" button on keyboard and then giving it a "play now" command ....

But when using remote i need it to start when selecting song with a "enter" or "ok" button on remote.

Any solution .... and sorry for not specifying that i use remote for operation.

Just to back you up. I have the same problem. When i press OK on my remote i want it to jump to "now playing". The thing in setup is set.

Why not press the play button on your remote?

^^^^ Yes, press "Play" on your remote.
I'm using the MCE remote which has "Enter", "OK" and "Play".
"play" is mapped to the "p" shortcut.
and that works.

The thing is that i want to keep it simpel.

That means that my kids can use the system and the wife.

If all controls can be done by up, down, left, right, OK and Menu, it would be nice.

Mapping diferent buttons to different actions is making it difficult.

Why have 3 or 2 buttons doing the same action as 1 button ?


When navigating with remote i select menu items with "OK" button.

When i select a song with "OK" button, it plays.


Why would i have another button to push for play action when just selecting it is enough.

My question is, can i do it ? .... or am i the only one in need of "simpel" user interface.
