Hi
I have had many users in Denmark crying over the confusing setup in Media portal. Many users find it very hard to set Media portal up. So i thought of a new way of doing it.
I have collected over 59 scanning lists in various countries, with frequency tables. So now my idea is to make a database with all this, so people don’t need to scan to install Media portal. When installing Media portal you simple select your country and your cable company or free to air area. That simple, and no scanning is needed this way. The only problem I’m facing is TV mapping. If I could auto detect the cards and then map it auto to them. But the other way, why do this and not simply let the user do this her/himself.
I’m currently working on a complete version of media portal with WEB interface and a Monitor program where you can see your recordings and tuner status. Of course I want to hear what people think of the idea before I release anything. Good idea or Bad idea?
