Idiots guide to DVD's and codecs (1 Viewer)

Hello again,

Having a few problems getting my DVD's to play in MPortal due to the following pattern:

• I put in a DVD
• The sound plays
• the screen goes blank
• I get a little upset

DVD's play fine out of Realplayer and Cyberlink Powercinema (I am currently using Real Player as an external player as a short-term fix)

I have tried exporing the world of codecs but am really puzzled.

Can anyone out there give me a sure fire guide for the technically frustrated on how to get DVD's to play on MPortal?

1. go to your start menu in windows
2. MediaPortal -> "MediaPortal Debug"
3. reproduce that issue (means put in a dvd)
4. after that close MediaPortal
5. attach the exported log.zip to the post (use the "Go Advanced2 button, then look for "attachements" in this new screen and upload your log.zip)
