First off, I'd like to say a big thank you to the developers of Media Portal for making such excellent software (Media Portal and TV Server). Secondly, for anyone who is trying but failing to get TV Server working and find half of the threads on this fourm incoherent with talk of logs, TCPs, etc etc, you might want to do what I (an IT novice) did. 1. Firstly, I uninstalled everthing (all Media Portal / TV Server / SQL software) to start again! 2. I then followed the TV Server video tutorial literally click for click (I even named the folders the same as the German guy on the video!) 3. Basically, I installed MY SQL first (because I coulnd't get Windows SQL working - some kind of WMI problem whatever the hell that is but MY SQL works fine) - then I installed TV Server and then configured both SQL and TV Server. 4. Then I installed MediaPortal stable release and then the SVN release (and set them up - following the video tutorial). Then I installed the TV plugin thing and ran that. 5. TV Server works with my Mediaportal now! I've no idea what the hell it does, I will find that out now! Thanks again to the developers. djm
