Im new and have some questions (1 Viewer)

Hello!

At the moment im using GBPVR as HTPC software.
I tested Mediaportal few years ago and now i want test it again.

My Hardware:
Gericom Hummer Celeron 2,4Ghz
1GB Ram
20GB HD
USB Opera DVB-S Box (no name! No BDA driver!)
Girder an a USB IR

Questions:
My DVB-S is a no name product, so i have written a small program to convert the scheduled record information to the original software. For this i must have an Plugin that can start and stop (maybe with batch files an parameters) an external software to record. Is there a way in Mediaportal to use external software to record and play ?

Is there an database or an file where the recording times are saved ?

At the moment i use XMLTV to grab EPG data.
Can i use this also in Mediaportal ?

Can i translate Mediaportal to German (Im german, sorry for my english )

Can i use my GIRDER with IR (Sconi ?)
At the moment i configured Girder to send commands (keys) to GBPVR, i think this will also work with Mediaportal.



Ok, thats all at the moment.
I hope anyone can help me, the FAQ is to small for me ;-)

1. I can't answer this, but I know that DVB-X cards wo BDA drivers are a PITA (read: Technotrend Premiere).
2. Yes you can use XMLTV Set it up using WebEPG
3. The GUI is already translated to German ( ++++++++++ ). Same goes for installer etc. There are VERY many German MP users - the even have their own forum section.
4. I think you can use almost all remote and receivers with and-81's IR Server Suite plugin
