Hi,

Summary:

Option for IMDB recognition trough folder structure instead of filenames.

Description:

My movie filenames are, well.. what they are, usualy very far away from the movie title itself, this way it takes a long time to add all the movie imdb-infos by hand.. could the mvoie recognition maybe work trough the folder name too? (Maybe add a check-box to configuration "Recognition by folder name"?)

as an example:
/Movies/James Bond - Casino Royale/x-asdfcd1.avi
/Movies/James Bond - Casino Royale/x-asdfcd2.avi
/Movies/The Matrix/q-tmpcd1.avi
/Movies/The Matrix/q-tmpcd2.avi
..
and so forth..

I prefere to keep the filenames untouched to know and remember in the future too, what fixes and subtitles for example belong to which movie version.

Thanks,
Diaz

Good Move

I too have requested this from MP for a while now... and also posted a thread with other ideas which I think would make MP better.

Hopefully the crew will see there are many peeps out there that would love to see this feature

This could be done better if media portal used a database structure that included a "Tag mask importer", that means that the user can define how the entries are held in the database. So you can get the info from the file name, folder, sub title file, what ever you want :)

I think for this to happen though the core of media portal needs to be changed.
