I would like to suggest the addition of a function to turn off the screen.

This is currently done automatically after 1min (idle) but I have not found a way to trigger the screen to turn off immediately via the remote.

This is especially useful for those of us who are unable to use standby.

I would think the function would be relatively easy to implement.

    It is in MP

Config - Remote - Remote Mapping ; under: Action - Window - Sreensaver

Just asign this to a remote button and make sure you configure MP to switch off monitor on screen saver.

hmm, I tried that option but nothing happens when I press the button.
It looks like its changing screens but it just comes right back to the home screen.

    I'll take another look.

I use this option all the time.
The only time that it doesn't work is when watching TV, then it always pops back to the TV screen.

ok, I must have something setup wrong then.
I see the screen sort of "minimize" but then it comes right back.

I noticed that my remote has been "double tapping" lately, so maybe it is causing it to come back.

    I'll check it out, thanks.

I tried this many times but it doesnt seem to work for me.
It seems to "minimize". All the icons and text go towards the center of the screen but the background never goes away), then it comes back.

Any idea what might be causing this?
