Hello,

after setting my HTPC to standby with the MCE remote control it imediately wakes up. This also happens when i set it manually to standby or hibernate. That problem only occures while having the MCE Remote IR receiver connected to a usb port. If i discconnect the ir receiver i can set the pc to standby or hibernate via the shutdown dialog. But i like to to it while ir receiver is connected.

Please help!

I would be grateful for any Idea or help

thank you

The log is showing a user input as activating windows resume, check that besides ehome components in device manager, neither keyboards or mice are set to resume from standby, or any other USB devices that may be listed in the power management tabs (except ehome, MCE keyboard or MCE keys of course).

Also WOL (wake from Lan) may need to be disabled from BIOS.

For the first the MCE standby tool will show you devices that will awake your PC and can be reconfigured from there, might be advisable to set MCE standby tool to AUTORUN, which sets up the best standby config anyway.

Also the new option available is to shutdown MP prior to standby, but have not had any feedback on this one yet, so could be trial and error if you use it.

Please come back if any more indepth information required.

    cheers

thank you for your quick reply again. Today i tested a lot of different settings but nothing changed. If i disable ehome Remote Control Keyboard keys and I set the pc to standby i works but i can't wake it up with the remote.
But thats what the setting should do.

So could it be a driver problem?
Maybe the USB 2.0 VIA drivers cause the problems?

    Do you have another Idea?

    Here is the solution

It was not a software related problem. I have to set the USBPWR jumpers on my ASUS A8V Deluxe Board to pin 2 and 3. Now standby works correctly. There are no immediate wakeups again.

    thx anyway

In addition to your solved problem, may I add a very weird "immediate wakeup" solving issue: I have a MCE remote keyboard an IR receiver and the receiver was placed directly under a desktop lamp wiht a neon tube.

This caused a constant stutter for the IR receiver indicated by the constant flashing IR LED. Switching off the lamp cleaned the cause.
