Hey everybody..

First of all: MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ANYONE ! :D

I hope there is someone who can help me, with my setup because i got lost and tired to read over and over again without finding something that can help me or maybe i dont know what to do if i have read about it..
So I hope you can..

Setup:
  • Thermeltake DH 101
  • MCE Remote This one

I also have the Imon pad remote, but i like the MCE remote and want to use this.

I have installed:
  • MediaPortal v. 1.1.2
  • Imon VFD driver and manager v. 7.90.0702
  • StreamedMP with Moving Pictures and MP-TV Series..

All of this almost working but i have a few issues..
Not all of my buttons on the remote is working correct..

I can only get the most buttons to work if i use the Imon manager and import the Mediaportal.imo file..
If i close the Imon manager and try to change something in the MP configuration - remote nothing happens in MediaPortal.

How can I change the mapping so it will?

My back <- button is not working and my clear button pretend it is my back button..
But in the Imon manager i cant change the back or clear button..

I hope you can help me with this problem and understand my bad english - and again Happy Christmas :)

Hi

Imon translates remote commands to keyboard input, so any changes in mediaportal remote settings will have no effect.

You need to map the available commands in Imon to key strokes that mediaportal recognises.

To find available remote commands, set up the mediaportal configuration in iMon for every available MCE remote command, and set iMon to display the "blue button" on the screen.

Then try every button on the remote and see what iMon responds to.

The downloaded mediaportal .imo file is not comprehensive, so you need to re-configure it.

Thank you for replying..

But i dont understand or i cant find out to do it right i think..

If i go in iMon manger i cant change my back button..
In iMon the back its greyed out and cant be changed..

I cant find the Clear button input or change it as well..

So if i make a Mediaportal setup i can change some of the buttons but not them all.. Why ?

I can read it has something to do with the keyboard input..

Please find enclosed my mediaportal set up.
Maybe it will help a little. (hopefully it is attatched!! )

I do not use a "MCE" remote, but a Harmony remote configured as MCE remote, so I have a little more flexibility.

Do not use Mediaportal.imo from soundgraph, but create your own.

On iMON “Program command” tab, set up new program, click add program and navigate to Mediaportal.exe

Check in the other iMon tabs, I think windows, that the back button is not already assigned, as it will over-ride any program settings you want to make.

“Number buttons”, “arrow buttons”, “Select/OK” and “clear” are already mapped as mouse commands, so do not register on the iMON settings (Clear is mapped as [ESC] and Select/OK mapped as [ENTER]).

regards

peter

OK, I have the same set up Harmony Remote and Silverstone case with iMon - I also have an MCE remote that I'm using for testing that belongs to my second PC

I can get some of the way but I'm confused on some points

I have the Streamed MP skin, and I can program the green button on the MCE remote with "Esc" key so that I can go back to the last screen. I also know how to map the Green MCE remote button to the back arrow on my Harmony remote, and that acts like my hitting the escape key. That works fine

The problem I have is that when I'm playing a film though Moving Picture and I click "Pause" on my MCE remote (which I'd sort of expect to work) then nothing happens. I can go through and set up keys for every button, but what I'm stuck on is what the keystroke is for Pause. Mind you when I hit Function + F7 on my media friendly keyboard (which should be pause) then that doesn't work either.

I'm guessing I need a plugin of some sort, but I'd really appreciate some pointers

Right that list was really useful, when I started workign through them, I found the pause, fwd, rwd etc. all worked and solved my problem

Don't know how to get the Video, Pictures, Radio, etc working though

Have a look at this thread.

https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/input-output-interfaces-337/tutorial-harmony-one-imon-pad-rm200-soundgraph-mce-remote-shortcuter-e-87478/

Should contain some useful information

There is a document by myself which shows how to use Shortcuter to map spare remote commands from a MCE or Harmany remote (configured as MCE remote) to mediaportal key strokes to enable keys on the remote to directly open windows of your choice in media portal.

There are other ways to do this, but shortcuter is very simple and easy to understand ;)

Hope it helps

Peter
