iMon remote and mouse buttons (1 Viewer)

I have an iMon RSC remote. This has buttons that copy the left and right mouse buttons. So when I'm in full screen TV I use the right mouse button to get the OSD. I also set the mouse cursor to hidden so that I don't spoil the TV picture.

This used to be fine, but now this was mentioned as a change for 0.1.0.8:

"Disable first mouse action when mouse is hidden"

This means that I now have to click the button twice for the OSD to come up. What is the logic behind disabling the first mouse action, it seemed to be working fine before.

Could there be an option in the configuration that allows you to chose whether you want to set this or not. The default could be to disable it, but at least I'd have the option of changing it back.

Keep up the good work. 0.1.0.8 seems the most stable so far and is looking good.

I didn't need to map the mouse buttons on the remote, they are already mapped. If fact I don't think you can reassign them.

The other thing I find tricky with the RSC remote is scrolling up and down the menus using the joystick. It doesn't work 100% of the time. I'm not sure if there is a fault with my joystick, but it is quite erratic. Do you have this problem vbap ?

What are you other key mappings ? I'd be interested knowing your other mappings. The idea of using the eject for the OSD seems quite a good idea.

I was hoping that the right mouse could be used for F9 and the left mouse for F3. I've not checked 0.1.0.8 completely, but there used to be inconsistancies between screens and not all allowed you to use the right mouse button to get F9.

I changed the key mapping in Media Portal so that the function "Show Context menu for the selected item (106)" (In General > keys & Sounds > Global Actions) is F10 instead of F9.
I found this didn't work on say, recorded TV screen, but realised it was because I had re-mapped "Show File Info (11)" to also be F10 (instead of F3, the default). So I made this one F9 - now, context menu button on the joystick works well,

I did not like MP use of left/right/up/down to do anything except navigate, so I deleted the key mappings for "Step Forward (20)", "Step Backward (21)", etc (these are assigned to sepciic Windows, such as Fullscreen Video specific actions". These seemed to hang the system anyway (for example, playing DVDs).

The Eject function is the only "non-standard" mapping I have made to the iMon remote. I tried using "right-click" and the other mouse buttons, but that seems to not work in iMon keyboard mode, since it seems to execute the right click wherever the mouse cursor is "resting", rather than on which ever screen object has the focus.

I agree - I find the RSC joystick problematic. I have just ordered the new iMon PAD remote (http://www.soundgraph.com/pr/e_pr_12.asp?m1d=1&m2d=12), which looks a hundred times better. Hopefully, it performs better too! I have read in other forums where users have complained of the iMon RSC remote starting in Mouse mode, rather than Keyboard mode. I hope the new PAD remote starts in keyboard mode...

I am still sorting out functions so my mappings are not complete, and will most likely change once I get the new remote. Once I have them sorted, I will post my MediaPortal keyboard mapping and my iMon remote configuration.

The new iMon PAD does look much better. I particularly like the splitting of the numbers from the specialist key (is there a way of entering number in the RSC). Where can you buy these controllers ?

I'll keep an eye out for your configuration settings when you are ready to post them. I think there are quite a few iMon users out there. I love using this remote to switch my HTPC on and of from the couch

On the iMON RSC; I am not able to use the lower 9 buttons with Media Portal. These 9 work fine outside of MP, and most of the other RSC buttons work inside MP.

I assume the problem involves iMON Manager - Program Command settings for the MP application...I can't sort it out tho, & Soundgraph docmntn & online support is very weak.

We currently are using MyVideos to view ripped DVDs; and hoped to get the play, pause, etc. commands on the remote...Sorry about posting to this old thread, but any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
