Hello i'm a new user of Mediaportal and have spent a lot of yesterday and today trying to find out what is going wrong with my setup.

I have a Silverstone LC 16 case complete with the IMon remote unit and Ipad.
AMD Phenom II 550.
Gigabyte MA770T board.
4 gig of Corsair Dominator ram.

Running Windows Vista Home Basic. Using the latest IMon i have no problems with the buttons working on the actual PC itself and read a guide on these forums about configured IRserver and various plug-ins which i did, this brought problems of it's own when not using Mediaportal as some of the button function from the IMon software did not function.

When i run Mediaportal i get a brief period where i can move the mouse cursor with the remote and then a freeze where i cannot control the cursor with the remote anymore. I can still use a normal mouse and keyboard as usual.

---

I decided to try a latest SVN build but i get an instant crash when it is launching the configuration and it gives me the "Windows detects this program is not working properly...." message. I have set it to "Run as administrator" like one of the topics on the forums offered as a solution but this didn't help :(

At the moment i'm a bit overwhelmed and i'm sure the solutions lie somewhere on the forum but i haven't had any luck in my searches so could someone please explain the likely causes of these issues and help me get them sorted because when i did test the program i found the picture quality very good and would like to get up and running soon :)

Thank you.

If it is the iMon Pad, it's guessing it's the RM200 version.

Firstly, don't use the Mouse setting with the remote in Mediaportal - it is not needed at all. Use the Keyboard mode.

What you should do is import an imo file (I made one and attached it to one of my posts, so search my posts and you will find it). This assigns the remote buttons to different commands in Mediaportal e.g. Play is play, Caption is subtitles etc. Just follow the instructions below:

1. Open iMon Manager
2. import the imo file in Program Commands
3. Open Mediaportal Configuration and make sure the minidisplay plugin is disabled. Otherwise the remote won't work
4. Once Mediaportal loads, switch to Keyboard mode on the remote and everything should work fine

The only problem with this is that you will not be able to display media information on your case display. That doesn't bother me though as all I want is to see the time, which I can set in iMon Manager > Frontview settings

One other useful setting is to launch Mediaportal with the Go button.

As for the other SVN stuff, can't comment as I use the Beta version of 1.1
