IMDb.com must have added support to detect you are from Chile and to show you the Spanish title. If you want to rely on IMDb.com data, but force English, then for now your only option is to use the IMDb+ plugin. Use the "MediaPortal Extension Installer" shortcut on your desktop and locate IMDb+ in the known plugins section.

Then configure everything inside MediaPortal GUI (IMDb+ will be under 'Plugins'), and you are good to go for any new movie. To fix any existing movie, use the "Force IMDb+" option inside the hidden menu (left arrow on most skins). For any additional questions, hop on over to the IMDb+ forum.

@raikonen, is there any reason you did not update Moving-Pictures for then? Reason those minimum requirements were put up is because I used some code to do things with that only worked correct in new versions, but it would still function to the point of being useful on the older ones.

Updating MovPic however is the easiest thing to do. You can make a full backup very easy otherwise if you are paranoid/unsure. Just copy your program and your data folder of "Team MediaPortal" in place, so you get "Team MediaPortal (copy)", that way you can replace files, try stuff out and if it fails you can delete "Team MediaPortal" and rename the '(copy)' one back and it is like nothing ever happened (I do that all the time to switch between versions or try out things). Just be sure you do it to both the data folder and the program folder.

Then you can try out the latest MovPic installer and see if you like it, once that is installed (skin all works/etc), then you can even grab v1.5.2.1528 test build from IMDb+ download section to get the latest update on Moving-Pictures with all the updated features/fixes. It will be out as official release soon, but I've deployed it on dozen+ systems already and it works extremly well.

As for IMDb+ requesting MediaPortal v1.2.x I think that had to do with some skin aspects in use, because the IMDb+ scraper-script should work fine. In worst case that means you have to edit the IMDb+ options with notepad and can not use IMDb+ GUI configuration.

I started development of IMDb+ in early 2010, and v1.0.8 was near the end of 2010. I have just added some specific nodes that only work in the more recent versions and it was easier to ask for MovPic v1.2.x or higher.

MovPic v1.5.2 'should' work fine on MePo v1.1 though, and if you do the backup first you have no-risk in finding out for sure. If you are not sure how to make an easy backup (and more importantly 'restore' on failure), then reply and I will explain in detail how easy it is. Please provide your OS then, as paths between XP and Vista/Win7/Win8.x are different)

You should really rename the old install and try a fresh new one, so you can explore all the new options.

The plugins that support MiniDisplays have improved a lot. Still that should not have prevented you from updating Moving-Pictures either. Of course I totally understand the thinking "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", but in this case it is broke

Perhaps all you needed was updated DLLs, such as the ones provided at: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/imon-vfd-lcd-minidisplay-driver-for-mediaportal-1-1-3-1-2-1.95616/page-32#post-1005366 (just dump them all in MediaPortal program folder)

Yes, routing all your IMDb requests to go via USA IP will solve it, but keep in mind that you do need to install updated default IMDb scraper-script, because IMDb.com made many breaking changes. Another option is to use TMDb, but because this is an internal scraper, you would need to update MovPic. As easy as it is to safeguard your existing setup via a backup and then try a MovPic update, you really should consider trying that, cuz it will at least aleviate your problems for the time being.

    Enjoy.
