Improve channel ZAP times (1 Viewer)

Dear All,

I am now on my 6th MediaPortal build, which is now an Intel NUC with an external USB tuner.
It works great, and what a fantastic platform MediaPortal is.

I would like to ask for help to reduce the channel ZAP times.

• I am using V 1.6.0 in conjunction with DJ Blu's awesome Custom Grabber

• I am using a SoftCam via MDAPI
  
• Tuner: Prof Revolution S2 7500 USB - http://www.proftuners.com/prof7500.html

Please find my logs attached.

The time it takes to begin playing a selected channel, once selected, is:

SD Channel - no softcam required : 3 seconds
HD Channel - no softcam required : 6 seconds
SD Channel - softcam required : 6 seconds
SD Channel - softcam required : 6 seconds

Any input would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I won't discuss MDApi here as it not allowed but are you on a single seat or multi seat setup? For me, I'm using the same stuff as you no doubt and my zap times are around a second or so for SD and about 4 for HD... Which is the same as an HD channel change on my Sky NZ Box. To be honest, the way the stuff is decrypted is what adds to the time as there are several plugins and processes which need to occur, plus HD channels take longer to setup with TSreader from what I can tell; certainly TVE (both modded and normal) set up the TSBuffer file very quickly.

Thanks for the reply. I am on a singleseat setup.

Any ideas on what I could try? I might look into switching to the Cyberlink codec..

Can you check if the Allow this card to be preloaded and Pause card is enabled for your tuners?

Thanks for this and sorry for the delay. I had Preloaded selected but had it set to Stop card rather than Pause.

Changed it to Pause and am now zapping HD Softcam channels in 6 seconds
