This is all superfluous, you need to wait for changes to the Media Portal, as soon as they are done, then all the IDs registered in the tracks will go to the database. And the plugin will just take them and not look for anything, and the result will always be the same.

To my understanding the user would need to add the MBID to the music file tag - this is not done automatically by MediaPortal or FH, right?
Is there a ID3 tag for MBID?

I agree with hwahrmann - I doubt that the users will add the MBID to their music files.
As long as the music providers or MediaPortal/FH don't add the MBID to the ID3 tags, the MBID field in the MP db has no advantage for the users. As a result the FH MBID search engine will still apply for most of the users. Hence, it still makes sense to further support and improve it.

Those who need accuracy will be added, to whom not, they will not. Moreover, it is not difficult and is done once in a semi-automatic mode.

It's difficult for the users to maintain this new tag. And, scanning all files once is not enough because artists with no MusicBrainz entry first could be added later.
I think there's no program which determines the MBIDs better than FH! You should continue to develop and support this useful automation.
