In XP we had a volume control with a large number of increments which worked well. It also gave a full range of volume (0-100%)
and was even custom-izable if that was desired.

I know there are some stock limitations for Vista/7 but the current limited increments combined with a max of 60% full volume is a major issue for me. I know you can get around it somewhat with 3VRX but that has issues and had crashed on several installs. Stability is the bedrock of a HTPC and the fewer external 'extras' we need the better off we all are, especially from a support perspective.

I've had to change back to WMC7 due to this (WAF). Even just getting back the larger number of increments would be a great start. :)

AW: Improved volume control for Vista/7

    Hello!
I think there is definitely work in progress. Check this thread: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/submit-code-patches-mediaportal-tv-server-etc-325/master-volume-master-volume-mute-vista-above-98463/
I hope this is what you looking for.

    PS:
If you are able to compile MediaPortal by yourself you can check out this GIT branche with the fix included: https://github.com/MediaPortal/MediaPortal-1/tree/FEAT-3635-Master_volume_control_for_Vista_and_above

    EDIT:
The author just updated his post and added a MP 1.2.2 testversion so you don't even need to compile it yourself instead just replace the files. -> https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/submit-code-patches-mediaportal-tv-server-etc-325/master-volume-master-volume-mute-vista-above-98463/#post766092

    Thanks :D
Just waiting on it to be re-compiled in a 1.2.2.0 compatible version so I can test it out.
Would be a simple but much needed improvement.

I don't seem to have a problem but to be fair I can't recall how many increments I had before. At present I see 16 and it does go to full volume as you can see in the attached screenshot.
