Server: Vista Ultimate, C2D 1.86GHz, 2GB, TBs of disk.
Client 1: Window 7 HP, C2D 2.66GHz, 2GB, TBs of disk.
Client 2: Window 7 HP, P4 3.0GHz, 2GB, 500GB of disk.
All are running MP 1.1.0_BETA-1_rev23491.
There are 2 DVB-T and 1 DVB-S2 tuners in the server.

I'm struggling to get the best out of MP and hope you can help. Problems are:

* Running an MP client on the server, live DVB-T TV works fine but I cannot get it work on client machines - when I select a channel it just hangs. I was able to scan the channels for the DVB-S2 card and can sometimes get BBC HD on the server but it too usually hangs when I select it and I can't "preview" any of the other channels from the DVB-S2 tuner. I've turned the firewalls off and it's not that.

* I can't seem to get the TV guide working properly. I'm using XMLTV GUI with both Digiguide and Radio Times listings and I am getting the EPG from the DVB-T tuners OK but not from XMLTV. The output is being sent to C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\XMLTV\tvguide.xml - that's correct isn't it? Also I have the RT Plus One post processor selected but it doesn't seem to be working.

* My recordings are all .TS with subtitle streams, which are essential for me, but MP doesn't display the subs. I have VobSub installed and working on all the computers and I see subtitles with recordings that have separate .srt files but I need to be able to see the subs in my TV recordings.

* Using exactly the same codecs, I can watch .MP4 recordings on the 2nd client but the first just hangs when I select them!

* How do I tune ITV HD and how can I make listings for it appear? (Presumably once I get Digiguide listings working that will be answered)

* How can I make a recording when no listing is available?

That'll do for now :) but I hope you'll be able to get me through the transition from DVBviewer to MP; DVBv is good but MP's interface is soooo much better that I really want to make the change.

Thanks,
Simon.

All sorted now. It took a couple of re-installs to finally get everything working but it is now even better than I'd hoped for!

Respect to everyone who works on this, there's a bit of a learning curve but the effort is well worth it.

:D
