Hi,

Just installed MP 1.0 and so reinstalled the latest MCE plugin and I have a problem. Indeed, the Input service does not start with Windows.

The service is well set in automatic mode and I have set restart on each failure.

Can't post logs because no logs are created as the service does not start.

Then, if I run the service manually, everything is fine...

Any idea?

Thx for help...

This is strange, but I'm hearing it more and more. I believe it might be a problem with the device the service is trying to access not being ready.

What you could possibly do is set the service to manual and include a shortcut in the startup folder to start it.

You can start the service using the "net" command built into windows or you can launch it by running Input Service.exe with the /Start command line parameter.

I'll look into this further and it might be fixed automatically when I overhaul the device detection methods.

    Thanks for letting me know,

    Any development on this?

Input service stops just after it has started.

    I have a MCE remote & IR-receiver.

This is from the windows system log.

I can cautiously say that I found a fix. By turning off all the Windows Media Center services in msconfig, it seems that IR-server no logner is shut down.

I noticed in the logs that there was a Media center service (scheduler something) that closed just before IR-server was closed.

I've to confirm this problem the service not restart with windows is in automatic state but it is stopped... if I start it
    by it works

It seems to me that the same problem is present at resuming from standby state... more annoying for me :D

After reading the 1. post I realize that my problem is different than the 1 poster.

My problem is that the service stopped just after it started. And there seemed to be a connection with the Media center services. Have you tried to disable them?

My system is a simple Windows XP SP2 so I don't think I have anything Mediacenter related...but it's Micro$oft sotware after all so tonight I give an eye to this, too:D

I think , however that the problem is the same problem of LudoJ... I think the problem is present after resuming from standby, too :(
