Hi,

at the moment I have just a experimental setup.
I bought a Via Eden mainboard, a power supply, stole a CD-ROM from my main PC,
got a 256x64 LCD for free, made a homebrew IR receiver and made a PCB with some buttons on it.
I've no case at all and I've just screwed everything on a wooden board.
If I would know how to upload pics, I could show it to you.

I'm still fighting with the performance of my M-10000 mainboard (espacially the lousy onboard hw codec)
and the case is something I will take care about when I'm happy with everything else.
I'm looking for a case where I can build in my LCD and my buttons.
But I still neither know which case nor which buttons to use in my final solution.

I must have looked at hundreds of HTPC cases, but it was either not suitable or to expensive.
So I think that I'll have to build my own case later on.

Hi,

just to correct the mistake above (also it's not really important):

I of course bought a hard disc as well (5400rpm because it's more silent)
and I stole a DVD-ROM and no CD-ROM.
I've a TV tuner in main main PC, but no im my HTPC.
That's not so important for me right now and I perhaps will wait for DVB-T
to arrive in my hometown.

Go to http://www.imageshack.us/ and upload onto their website - it is free. I think the only real limitation is the image size (max of 1024 kB) and no porn. Then when it is on imageshack then post the URL in the Img tag in your post.

I'd like to see what you have.

There is some discussion on using the LPT port to turn on an LED when MP is recording. I put the call out for someone with HW and Plug in skills to see what they thought and Mzemina suggested you would be the best bet...
What do you think? Even with your VFD, a recording LED would look good on the case of your eventual HTPC ;-)
