    MediaPortal Version: 1.2.0 beta
    MediaPortal Skin: StreamedMP
    Windows Version: Vista x64

    After installing the new beta the installer updated the DirectX installation. After the installation I tried starting up MediaPortal and it froze during the start up screen. The error log showed Exceptions like this:
    [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: D3D: InitializeDeviceObjects - Exception: Error in the application.
    -2147024882 (E_OUTOFMEMORY)
    at Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.Font..ctor(Device device, Font font)
    at MediaPortal.GUI.Library.GUIFont.InitializeDeviceObjects()
    at MediaPortal.GUI.Library.GUIFontManager.InitializeDeviceObjects()
    at MediaPortalApp.InitializeDeviceObjects()
    at MediaPortal.D3DApp.InitializeEnvironment()

    After restarting Windows the problem went away and MediaPortal started without problems again.
    So I think the installer should ask for a Windows Reboot in case the DirectX had to be updated.

    Hmm... OK, but where should I post it than? Didn't find another bug report forum for 1.2.x

    That is not required.
    No idea what went "wrong" in your case that it needed a reboot. Never seen such before.
