Intalling the SQL sever (1 Viewer)

I have My Movies for VMC and now I've installed MP new version.
I didn't install SQL server, when I installed the MP, because I think that MY MOVIES is already using SQL Server.
But now MP takes long time to open, and it doesn't seem connecting to the TV server.
Should I install again MP this time with SQL server?
Why do I need the SQL server? why do I need a TV server if I only using 1 computer?

Do you want to watch TV, if so then you need TVServer + a SQL database, this is whether you have a single pc or 10 pc's

If you do not want TV then just install Mediaportal in the advanced settings.

The TvServer is not "just" a server application.

More correctly it is a complete new TvEngine,
so you need it as well when planing to watch TV
on the PC you are installing MP on.

Yes this is my HTPC and I'm planing to watch TV with this computer.
I still don't understand why I need a server for this? and what should I do regarding the installation of the SQL server.
When I open the TV server configuration it asks for user/password, and I don't have it, since I think it was automatically installed by My Movies extension to VMC(Vista Media Center).
Should I reinstall Media Player?

Just rerun the installer and select the One Click option.
if everything is setup correctly it will skip the installation of the sql server.

Concerning the password, try this:
user: sa password: MediaPortal

As said the TvServer is basically a complete new TvEngine with being able to set up multiseat environments
being one of its biggest advantages/features. That's why it is called TvServer.

The SQL Server is for storing channel infos, epg data and the like.

I try to re-install it but

I got error message that it cannot install SQL server 2005... which I think that is already installed by My Movies...

Did you use the MediaPortal installer to install the sql server ?

As I wrote, the SQL server was already installed by My Movies, then I used MP to install its SQL server.
