Intelliremote for iPhone/iPod Touch has been released on the Apple Appstore today.

Intelliremote Client for iPhone/iPod Touch is a native iPhone application that allows you to control your home theatre PC running Windows. Since the iPhone uses a network connection it does not need "line-of-sight" like traditional infrared remotes and you can use it anywhere in or out of your house!

The purpose of this program is simple: to allow complete control of your Home Theatre PC from your iPhone with the touch of a finger. While Apple has provided an iPhone remote for ITunes...what about the rest of us that don't use ITunes?

Do you use VLC or MediaPortal to watch videos? Do you use GBPVR, DVBViewer, MediaCenter, XBMC, or SageTV for DVR? Maybe Winamp, MediaMonkey, BSPlayer, or ITunes for music? Control them all from the comfort of your iPhone or iPod Touch!

i can only recommend this app. it works flawlessly together with mediaportal. a nice update will also be released shortly with more useful features (using iphone/ipod as a mouse touchpad e.g.) . to get it working you need the server application and the application from apple store.

greetz,
k

I love Love LOVE this program!
One more feature I would love but of which I'm sure it is not possible is getting a working epg on the iphone/touch. Like I press the guide Button I get a list of my channels and whats showing. So I could set my Recordings without starting the TV set.
But still I strongly recommend it to all MP Users & Iphone/touch owners! Did I mention that i LOVE it :)
It immediatly replaced my mce remote. Keyboard and Touchpadfeatures are just what I needed

I'm currently trying out intelliremote. I'm impressed so far, but I can't work out a few things. Hopefully you guys may be able to help. I'm using kians MediaPortal.xml and an iPhone.

When I press any of the MCE buttons for Guide, LiveTV etc, the Windows menu pops up as if I've pressed START. I've looked in the mappings in intelliremote, but can't see any "go to guide" action or similar. I also can't find any keyboard shortcuts in MediaPortal wiki or configuration.

Has anyone been able to get these keys working? I use a hauppage 45 button in addition to the iPhone if thats any help.

Cheers

Req says wifi connection.. Does that mean that it has to be my wifi at home? or does it connect via http? The reason I ask is that my wifi and my HTPC is in 2 different networks..

Sharky,

Basically if it brings up the start menu that means that button is mapped to CTRL+ESC in Intelliremote profile which is the keyboard shortcut for the Start Menu. Anything you want to do in MP you need to look up the keyboard equivalent in MP and just map it so in Intelliremote profile of your choice!

Hope that helps!

It says WIFI just because that is what people have. What it really means is NOT over 3G or Edge. As long as your IP address is accessible from the network you are trying to connect from it will work. Does that make sense? So if you can ping your HTPC like "ping 123.456.789.012" and you get a response from your Wifi network then I don't see why it won't connect from your iPhone or iPod touch as long as Port 6000 or whatever port you make Intelliremote is not blocked by firewall.
