My system is hooked up like this:
Hard drive array hooked up to good computer in basement, which is connected wireless through a router. In my room I have a good laptop hooked up to my plasma and receiver.
Problem is, I can't watch Hi-Def movies because 1. not enough bandwidth wireless to stream hi-def, and 2. my laptop has s-video out, no hi-def.
To my understanding unless I wanted to buy a whole new laptop, getting a dvi-out is pretty much out of the question. My solution was to get an external media player like Mvix (http://www.amazon.com/Mvix-Wireless...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1202067003&sr=8-1)
This has harddrive storage and high definition video output capabilities, perfect for what I need. However, I know I might not have any integration with mediaportal.
I was wondering if at the very least, I could still have the movies listed but just indicate that it is available high-definition on the Mvix ... or if at best, I could have mediaportal somehowl aunch the file on the Mvix (it does have USB).
If anyone has any ideas, I would be much appreciative I've been trying to figure this out for a while.
