When starting my HTPC mediaportal works as it should - i can watch TV and record without problems. EPG also works flawlessly.
After a variable time period - usually 1-2 days (HTPC is always on, as it also runs other software) - i get "unknown error" when attempting to watch TV - any scheduled recording isn't done.
After rebooting I'm again able to see/record TV... for a day or two....

No (!) plugins installed...
Logs attached for my latest episode...

    Hi Hildebrandt

There is only one successful tune attempt - the first one - in your entire set of logs, which are *very* long. After that there are almost 4500 failed attempts!
Most of those failures are the EPG grabber attempting to grab EPG. Each time the error is the same:

There is absolutely no indication of why the error starts, which tells me that this is almost certainly a tuner driver problem. In fact I've seen this exact same issue with the same card (2400i) before here. I'm guessing the issue is related to sleeping and resuming. In any case, I'm sorry but there is nothing we can do about it. You need to report this issue to Terratec. If Terratec can't or won't help you then either get a new card or work around the problem by automatically restarting the HTPC at 3am every morning...

    Best regards,
    mm

Hi mm - thx for the reply...
My problem, however, is not quite the same as in the post you refer to - you state that "I'm guessing the issue is related to sleeping and resuming", however sleep/resume is not used in my setup, as the server is on 24/7 performing other chores besides running MP/TVSERVER... My problem is, that after being on for a while (hrs/days) MP is unable to use the tvtuner...
Also - I've used MP for several years (versions) with the same tuner and this problem first appeared in 112, previous version of MP didn't exhibit this problem...
It's very strange - as I see it, it must be related to either MP or windows...

    Intermittent errors are the worst....

    Hi again

    Intermittent errors are the worst....
    Agreed!!!

Sleep/hibernate doesn't have to be involved for it to be a driver problem. I guessed that it would be related to that since quite a lot of tuners have sleep/hibernate problems and because you said that the PC was always on. In your case the tuner is working on and off all the time with the EPG grabber always collecting EPG data. If there is a small driver bug (I'm thinking a memory leak) it might take several days for it to show.

It's very strange - as I see it, it must be related to either MP or windows...
As I said before, I'm almost certain it is a driver issue - at least it is *very* unlikely to be an MP problem. You said that you didn't have this problem before MP 1.1.2 - well 1.1.2 is ***almost*** identical to 1.1.1 and 1.1.3. Only a *tiny* fraction of code has changed. Some small bug fixes that should not affect your card were added to 1.1.2, and another small change to allow support for Windows 7 SP1 was added to 1.1.3. Really *very* little changed. Are you certain you didn't upgrade *any* drivers or change any settings?

Ronisle, one of our testers had, such a card, one tuner failed due to a dry solder joint which he fixed, apparently, this was not a uncommon problem with them, as loads were returned under warranty, the manufacturing quality control was found to be not very good.

    Thought you should know.

    Regards

The card i'm using now is secon one - number one was returned under warranty...

An easy answer is available - i have a Hauppauge WinTV Ministick lying around, will swap the current tuner with this and see if it makes a difference...
I'll post again with the results..

    thx...

With the haupphauge stick mediacenter has been running 6 days (max) without recording problems - looks like the card/drivers caused the problem...
    Just ordered the HVR-2200...

    thx for the input, guys...
