    Hi everyone,

I am currently running MP/MPS 1.0.2 in a single seat installation. It all works really well except that PowerScheduler occasionally will place my system in standby even though it shouldn't. It also occasionally wakes up the system unexpectedly but this is less common.

    Some examples include:

    - MP Client NOT in home screen (idle, not playing media) - I have selected not to shutdown except in home screen in Config

    - I have uTorrent scheduled to start at 2:09am and close at 2:00pm via TaskScheduler. uTorrent is in the Processes list of TVServer and will usually prevent standby but it seems to occasionally shutdown anyway. When I resume the computer later in the morning uTorrent is running so it isn't TaskScheduler failing to launch it. I have tried adjusting the time delay before entering Standby but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I have also restricted the Standby hours between 2am - 2pm in MPS Config but this also doesn't help.

    Here is my log:

    Hi,
i recognize the same problem on my system. I think a restart of the PC resolves this issue for a while, maybe after standby/hibernate it reoccur. Only playing some media or live-tv prevents system to go in standby/hibernate.

I've noticed rebooting seems to help...might schedule a regular system reboot until this is resolved.

    An update,

    Rebooting doesn't help...

I have discovered the solution though. Turns out that Vista defaults to returning to standby after 2 minutes when it has Resumed Automatically - that is with no user input. Hence why my scheduled starting of uTorrent was able to wake the system but Vista was forcing a standby 2 minutes later. Apparently Microsoft introduced this feature after some laptops cooked themselves inside peoples bags when they woke up without user input, I guess PowerScheduler can't override this. There is a Regise try fix see: Sleep Return Timeout for Unattended Wake Up - Vista Forums. Setting the value to 0 prevents Vista from forcing the system back into standby and hence uTorrent happily runs away overnight, freeing up PowerScheduler to do its thing.

Maybe this registry fix can be included as an option inside PowerScheduler, a checkbox that will modify the registry for users who aren't comfortable modding it directly?
