IP control for home automation integration (1 Viewer)

Im new to these forums but I have been looking into various programs/solutions for my home theater/video streaming and have come to the conclusion that Mediaportal is the best option available given the lack of support and crappy software loaded on the current generation of network media tanks.

I am having a Control4 home automation system installed in my home and was wondering if there has been any development or if any is planned for IP control of MediaPortal for integration with such systems (Crestron, etc)? I searched for various threads on the topic but none of them seem to indicate any such control exists, but some do mention possible current development...

Is anyone working on this currently?

Embedded Automation have developed something along this line and have even launched a 7" touchscreen wall mounted console to interface with it. I believe it also hooks up to IP cameras, heating/AC and other home automation systems. Unfortunately it's not MP and it's not without cost. There are also some MCE plugins that do something like you want, not sure if they work with creston though!

Thanks... I think what I was getting at was more of whether or not the MediaPortal developers are working on a method for IP control of the software so that systems such as Crestron/Control4/etc could control the software from their touchscreens etc, without having to use separate input devices/remotes.

Some threads have alluded to it but I havent seen anything concrete nor much discussion. It seems like it would be a major benefit to the program as right now the media streaming market is rapidly developing but still in its infancy with regards to having good feature support, codec support, and having a pleasing user interface. MediaPortal has feature support and codec support down reasonably well, alsong with a good interface, but the lack of IP control seems to keep it out of the list of options available when it comes to home automation systems. MCE is decent but I dont believe it has IP control either and I doubt Microsoft is working on that, but who knows...
