Iptv pvr (1 Viewer)

I am fairly new to uisng a PC to watch TV, so probably a pretty basic QQ. I get IPTV and use Videolan's player VLC to watch TV on a Win Media Centrelaptop. I want find a software PVR so I can record programmes - Win MCE does seem to be able to do it and cannot find a TV signal. Will MP do that for me??
