    fine, nothing wrong so far.
You should have the "Connection established".
    Then you should see either:
Starting Mediaportal -> This happens when you press the green button
Mediaportal is already running -> When MP is already started and you press the Green button

When you now exit MP and press the Green Button, you will see "Starting Mediaportal" again.

    update on behaviour

when exiting MP and attempting to restart it while MP unloads from memory it does display "MP Already running" (or similar msg).

Once MP is unloaded it does not restart MP anymore (as if the connection between mptray4irtrans to IRTrans is broken) while the context menu shows only Exit (indicating it's still connected to IRTrans)

As stated before I can recreate this behaviour at will .. the solution is to then exit mptray4irtrans and restart it. Then it works again

    please advise

and what happens, if you give MP Time to unload?
wait 5 seconds, before pressing the green button again.

please post the complete log of such a ssenario.
There must be a message, if the connection was closed by IRTRans.

    Am using mptray4irtrans...

It works well... though I normally only use it to start MP... I don't start/stop it often enough.

This is a dedicated HTPC, so if MP is closed... it's normally the case I have to reboot the machine (update, windows instability, etc).

I will play with bringing it up and down, just to see if I can help iron out the bug.

Once placed in the MP home directory and a quick shortcut to my 'Startup' folder it was away.

    Job well done! 8)

    Hi Ronald,

you got a new version of mptray, with some debug information sent to your mail address given.

Please do following to produce more info.
    1. Terminate IRTRans and start it with
    2. irtranstray -debug_code -logfile mptray.log -loglevel 4 usb

Then do all your tasks as before and send me afterwards:
    1. mptray.log found in the irtrans directory
    2. mediaportal.log
    3. mptray4irtrans.log -> this is now in the log directory.

    thx,

    Helmut

I am having the same issue as tfd. What I close MediaPortal and then try to restart it with the green button it will not restart. I have to close mptray4irtrans and restart it to make it function again.

I would post the mptray4irtrans.log file, but I don't have one in my mediaportal directory.

If you need someone else to help you test the problem I am willing to help.
