Is Blu-Ray Playback with PowerDVD Ultra possible? (2 Viewers)

I feel like I've reached the end of the internet looking for a solution to this issue. I have installed the stable version of MediaPortal, StreamedMP (for MediaPortal 1.0.2, Moving Pictures comes with it), and Daemon Tools Lite.

Outside of MediaPortal I can switch mounting images of BluRay movies and SD-DVD movies and they all autostart PowerDVD9 without a problem. However, once I get in to MediaPortal and click on the apporpriate ISO file BluRays will play on the first attempt but not play thereafter. It simply displays the folder structure of the ISO. SD-DVD movies work fine and as click on each ISO they open up in PowerDVD perfectly. Blu-Rays are the issue. Any suggestions on what I might be missing here?

I'm a new member and not experianced with MP yet but I am mounting bluray and dvd iso files with Virtual clone drive.
It mounts either just fine and will susequently mount another so I pressume it might be an issue with D/tools lite.
(Im on XP SP3 and PowerDVD 8 ultra).

I forget exactly how i set that up with MP. (I already had VCD installed using one virtual drive letter)
I think in the Daemon Tools section of the MP set-up i pointed it to the VCD drive folder and in there is a "Daemon" prefixed named file and then i selected the drive letter and drive number as "0".

I set powerdvd as the external player to be used by MP.
The only trouble i do get is that when i use MP to launch P/DVD (both are set to fullscreen launch) the navigation bar at the bottom of the P/DVD window does not quite fully disappear. I can still see a thin sliver of it at the bottom of the screen. However, if I launch Pdvd on it's own, the navigation bar will completely disapear (as long as dont move the mouse pointer or something of course).

Strangely i only get this on my 32" LCD TV. It does not happen on my 4:3 PC monitor.

I would rather user Virtual Clone Drive. I actually uninstalled it and installed Daemon Tools Lite because MediaPortal specifically listed it as Daemon Tools. I'll certainly try Virtual Clone Drive when I get home and see if that offers any change. As I said before, the strange thing with this is Autoplay works just fine for all SD-DVD's, it is only Blu-Rays where it either works the first time I try to execute a Blu-Ray or none at all. Also, if I mount outside MediaPortal the autoplay works great for everything...weird.

Well as i said VCD works for me, just rember to look to point MP at the Daemon file inside the VCD installtion folder, and not the VCD.exe itself.

Also, not sure i need to tell you this, but make sure when you are testing with MP, that your autoplay options are disabled in Pdvd cause you only want the iso to be mounted because MP asked it to.
I guess you also need to make sure that PDVD quits properly on exit so that the iso is released to be unmounted.

Wait a sec! You may have hit on the issue. I wasn't even aware PowerDVD did anything with mounting or unmounting. Are you sure about this? I am certain PowerDVD isn't unmounting upon exit which may be the issue here. I just wouldn't have thought PowerDVD could do this since it would need to somehow know it was actually a mounted Blu-Ray. Isn't that the point of mounting the image, you essentially trick PowerDVD in to thinking you have inserted a disc? I need to look in to this further.

PDVD does not do the mounting or unmounting but if you have power dvd set to autoplay on recognition of the file association types you have assigned to it and the default disk drive is the virtual drive letter it will auto open when you mount an image.
However, say you minimised PDVD or it did not exit properly, then daemon tools or VCD will not be able to unmount because a program has the file in use. That is what i meant.

I understand. PowerDVD is closing completely. Unfortunately, I think the issue resides elsewhere but I still plan on trying Virtual Clone Drive instead of Daemon Tools once I get home to see if that offers any help.
