Is Media Portal going to change its skin ? (1 Viewer)

I really like MP, but i have to say that its skin is very old-fashioned. (just look at vista MC skin).
Is there any chance that it will going to be changed in the last future/release ?

** I tried to download skins but they was not professionals and had a lot of compatibility Problems, I prefer the original software skin.

well, this is currently discussed internal. Some teammembers also think, its time to release a more polished skin for the next release. Others still like BlueTwo. I think there will come a poll sooner or later.

Hi isotoper,

Have a look at the Project Mayhem 3 skin. Even my wife thinks it looks very cool and professional.

I have experienced very few compatibility issues with this skin. The few I found I easily corrected in the xml.

I think the it should be a skin that is lightweight and fast...Maybe SimpleMP

Bluetwo suits the way i like my center, obvious big letters, not overly complicated, a good all rounder, if you can't run it then you have problems, if you can then just progress up the chain of more and more flashy skins.

I rather see the simple but good B2 skin with a superb MP, than all the flashyness of the Vista skin which is just hiding the crappyness of the Vista application.

In my opinion, right now is more important to have a user interface working and with no bugs, easier to skinning and with fancy fx... than having a new mp face....

This was tried last year, there was a poll on the main page and people chose a skin by a Microsoft employee?? that could not be supported. Lots of silly posts later it was decided to not change the default skin.

Personally I think blue2 looks old fashioned. There are some great new skins, but it would be nice to have the WPF interface working so more cool effects could be done before changing it.

i agree... i'm waiting for a stable an powerful interface to create my own skin, but until them... i'm just waiting.
