Is there a way to reference a specific folder with a button? (2 Viewers)

Here is what I'm trying to do.

My MP skin is being designed for one purpose only: to allow me to show my photography. Everything else is already gone.

What I am finding however is that after starting MP I have to:
  1. Select the My Pictures page, and go to it
  2. Select the folder I want, and go to it
  3. Select the subfolder I want and go to it
  4. View my photos

Ideally, what I want is to create a BasicHome.xml that can reference a given folder directly with a button's hyperlink property. IOW, create a list of shortcuts into the My Photos folder browser.

Is there a way to do this?

...Mike

    Hi Mike :)

Some plugins can now be called with a startup parameter, but I do not think it is build into Pictures yet.
Maybe you can ask in this thread if one of the devs can provide a patch for MP 1.3.

Sorry, that would not work. Hmm, I need to check some plugins, I remember there was some "autostart" plugin a while ago. Hold on

The MPStartIt Plugin can at least shortcut this a bit, it can autostart plugins (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...rtit-start-mediaportal-specific-plugin-84578/). The Plugin ID for my Pictures is 2.

Then you just have to arrange your folders as you want them. You might use hard links (run an elevated cmd prompt and us mklink to create your preferred virtual directory).

If done right you will be 1 click away from your pictures.

Thanks mbuzina. All I have to do is figure out why that plugin doesn't load or find where my mediaportal.xml files is so I can add it manually, and I'll be a lot closer!
