Is there any hardware to turnon an computer from a remote control ? (1 Viewer)

I will buy a new remote control with Learning fucntion, Sony RM-VL600 but I want to know if any of you had managed to wake up or turn on an computer from a remote control ?

It is possible and it depends on the IR receiver. Eg with the IR receiver of the imon vfd it works perfectly.

10x for the tip. Any ideea if this will work with other remote because I don;t find that remote better than the sony's remote

The MCE receiver can wake the computer.

When you say turn on, do you mean from complete Power down or Standby\Hibernate.

Most will do standby\hibernate from within windows environment, a few will do this from a complete power off condition if the hardware supports this (could be motherboard remote receiver or actually a TV card which have this ability, wired directly to the pc power button).
