Hi all.

My PC is with:
- Intel D915PLWDL Motherboard
- Celeron D 336 - 2.8 Ghz
- 2 x 1 GB DDR RAM
- Asus Geforce 6600 Silence - PCIe
- Plextor PX-716 DVD-Recorder
- Maxtor - 300 GB SATA-I drive
- Asus MyCinema-P7131 Dual
- Microsoft MCE Remote
- Microsoft MCE Keyboard

Is this hardware enough for a good Media Portal PC or do I have to change any hardware to make it run better?

Any suggestions will be appriciated :D

Hm... yor TV-card appears to be SW-based, and I'm not convinced that the celly is up for the task...

Other than that, everything looks ok.

Do not worry about the processor, the graphics card will easily cope with the intensive graphics side, so go ahead and jump in.

Any problems please feel free to ask for help or advice.

That system is more than enough to run MP - The only change I would make is the Tuner.

I think the Asus MyCinema-P7131 Dual is also a DVB card? if so, and you only plan on using the DVB aspect of the card, then its fine.

If you're simply going to tune analog TV, then definitely get a hardware based encoder card.

    Thanks for the replies.

I am going to use the Asus card for DVB-T and also for Video-in from my Cable-TV box.

Can the card be used for that?

If not, any suggestions on a good hardware grabber card, that have DVB-T and a good Video-In?

The Cable-Box (Selector Box in Denmark) have SCART-OUT.

So I have to use a good cable fra Scart to Composite Video (Most video-in ports) ??

Wouldn't the Video-In signal still have to be converted from Composite signal to MPEG-2 data? (Just like the Composite signal from a VCR). I would think that I would be better of with a Media Portal supported hardware DVB-T card that have a good Video-IN.

Any suggestions on a good card?

I have my eye on a Terratec Cinergy 1400 DVB-T, anyone have experience with this card in Media Portal?

It does, hardware hybrid cards already exist. The Hauppauge HVR-1300MCE and the Dvico Digital Hybrid come to mind.
