Is TV Server mandatiry to get TV in MP? (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

Sorry for a possible dumb question. I installed TV engine 3.0 om a single seat configuration, and I experience big problems, such as picture freezing and mosaic effect when switching channels, poor timeshift buffer handling, weir dbehaviour with channels being accelerated until audio comes in sync with video.

So I was wondering, do I have to use TVserver3 ? Isn't there an alernative, like only using myTV in Mp, as I am on a single seat configuration.

At the moment, my HTPC is unusable for TV, since when you change a channel, it takes ages and produces lots af defects that make it quite unusable (sometimes it won't even change channel in the end and stay frozen until you quit the application).

For information, I'm using Hauppauge PVR150 latest drivers, MP latest SVN, TVserver SVN just before the latest one. My config is built on an external STB for digital cable TV, that feeds the PVR150 through SVHS-1 input.

So basically, is there any other way than TV Server 3 to use TV in MP on a single seat config ?

No, MyTV in MP V0.2.3.0 RC2 without the SVN's works very good in a singleseat configuration and is pretty stable. That's what I'm currently using.

Do not install TVE3 with it's plugin and you will be then using TVE2\MYTV from within MP, all settings are then done in MP's setup\television.

You may have to reinstall\repair MP as uninstalling TVE3\plugin sometimes confuses MP, just use your last MP svn.

All your settings bar TV will be saved, TV recordings done with TVE3 would have to be accessed via My Movies though.

So I don't need MSSQL either, right?
All i have to do is deinstall TVServer, TV client plugin, reinstall MP latest SVN, and that's all ?

I think I will be going the "old fashioned" way for the moment and do as you both suggest.
Hopefully this will work better.
