Description
Using the internal DVD player, I find that when I press my subtitles button assigned to "Next Audio" it doesn't do anything but I can change the audio track from the Context Menu.

Also my subtitles button doesn't toggle subtitles. I've tried it assigned to "Next Subtitle" and "Show Subtitles". The first press turns them on showing "English 1/32" (I guess there were 32 subtitle tracks before I ripped the disc) but subsequent presses just show the same thing and don't turn them off. I have to go to the Context Menu to disable them again.

When starting playback (from My Videos) I just get a black screen and the menu only appears after I press one of the directional keys.

When the menu is showing, only Stop gets me out of that screen, whereas when the DVD is actually playing I can use the usual keys (Back, Red(Show GUI), TV Guide, etc).

I was playing a 60hz DVD into a 60hz TV but the render stats don't look right. Shouldn't they be more or less flat?

When I tested earlier, I'm sure the my left/right directional buttons worked to skip back/forward but on the last test all they did was show "End" in the middle of the screen.

Steps to Reproduce:
Play DVD ripped to folder.

Press remote button assigned to "Next Audio"

Press remote button assigned to "Next Subtitle" or "Show Subtitle"

For me all this works fine with remote (subtitle + audio stream change).

Are you sure your DVD is 60Hz cause it reports 24Hz.. No framedrops tho. Strange..

PS: I am using Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder as Video Codec + ffdshow audio decoder.

OK I tried with another DVD folder rip and that reports as 60hz and the render stats look flat. I didn't think DVD's came in 24hz? Hmm, I just tried the same DVD rip again and now that's showing 24hz as well.

With this other DVD, it has three subtitle tracks and it does cycle through them and back to Off, so I think it just doesn't like the fact that the other says it has 32 tracks when there's only actually one and that's why it gets stuck on 1.

The directional buttons are working to skip with this DVD. I'll re-test with the original one.

With the audio track switching problem, I've found that if I set my button (Green) in MessagePlugin for "No Condition - Next Audio" it works but not for "DVD is Playing" (I tried setting that to Next Subtitle as well and it doesn't do anything, which is wierd because my subtitle button is setup for "DVD is playing" and that works, so it seems to recognise it's in that state (there isn't a "No Condition" event setup for my Teletext button so it's not using that there).

OK, with the second DVD it shows the FBI warning when I start playing. I think the reason the first DVD shows a blank screen until I press a key and then shows the menu is probably because this warning and other trailers were dumped when ripping.

Regarding skipping back/forward, this works with the second DVD but only works with the first DVD if I resume playback. If I start from the beginning, it just shows "End" when I try and skip. Also, when the skipping does work with this DVD after resuming playback, it hangs for several seconds and when the new picture appears that's jerky for several seconds more. With the second DVD it skips without any problem.

Regarding the FPS, it seems the FBI warning and other trailers are at 60hz on the second DVD but once the film starts it changes to 24hz (still surprised that DVD's are at 24hz, do DVD players speed these up to play properly on 25(50) hz PAL TV's?) I tried disabling "Use Mediainfo" in case it was misreporting the FPS, so I guess this must be right.

Fast-forwarding works smoothly up to 16x, at which point it goes jerky and rewinding is only smooth at 2x. Is this expected behaviour?

The attached logs are from the first DVD and should show the problems with skipping.
