    Hi all,

Not sure if the EPG forum is the correct place.

    I am running MP1.1.0.0 Beta, on W7x64

Perfoming an external/commandline XML tvguide import (with XMLTV GUI and power scheduler)

Not sure what I've done, but I can not get the HTPC to sleep after the import completes! :(

I have set the power schedule to wake at 2:00am perform a commandline process before the interal triggers are run.

I have set a idle timeout.

I have specified power scheduler can operate between 23:00 + 7

The extract from the log is (just as the import completes):

    2009-12-22 02:02:24.498443 [XmlTvImporter]: Xmltv: imported 110 channels, 113587 programs status:tvguide.xml:File imported successfully;
    2009-12-22 02:02:24.501443 [XmlTvImporter]: plugin:xmltv import done
2009-12-22 02:02:24.501443 [XmlTvImporter]: plugin:xmltv: Telling PowerScheduler standby is allowed: True, timeout is one hour
    2009-12-22 02:03:10.863381 [Powerscheduler Timer]: PowerScheduler: lastUserTime: 01:59:10.8153 , False
2009-12-22 02:03:10.867381 [Powerscheduler Timer]: EpgGrabbingHandler: standby not allowed since EPG is due
2009-12-22 02:03:10.867381 [Powerscheduler Timer]: PowerScheduler.DisAllowShutdown: handler EpgGrabbingHandler wants to prevent standby
    2009-12-22 02:04:10.875889 [Powerscheduler Timer]: PowerScheduler: lastUserTime: 01:59:10.8153 , False
2009-12-22 02:04:10.881889 [Powerscheduler Timer]: EpgGrabbingHandler: standby not allowed since EPG is due
2009-12-22 02:04:10.882889 [Powerscheduler Timer]: PowerScheduler.DisAllowShutdown: handler EpgGrabbingHandler wants to prevent standby
    2009-12-22 02:05:10.891398 [Powerscheduler Timer]: PowerScheduler: lastUserTime: 01:59:10.8153 , False

As you can see the log is stating it can't shutdown as EPG is due????

    Thanks, :)

    J.

    Hi there,

    Anyone got any ideas?

I'm about to install the latest SVN, but I don't believe any fixes pertain to this issue :(

    Thanks,

    J.

    ps - Happy Xmas :D

    Hi guys,

Sorry for not getting back sooner - My other half made me prioritise the other issues :O

I will clear down the logs and capture some new ones today.

So to recap, I am running MP1.1 with latest SVN on W7x64, with PowerScheduler configured to run external XMLTV GUI program to download EPG, them MP XMLTV imports it.

I have disabled the EPG DVB options (for filling gaps, downloading when idle, etc).

    I have configured PowerScheduler with:

    ***** General *****
Shutdown server after being idle for 45 minutes (this was to allow the EPG to fully import - takes 30 minutes) - Is this 45 minutes required (or will PowerScheduler manage this for me)?
Wakeup server for various wakeup events
    Shutdown mode is "Suspend"
Allow shutdown hours 1 and 6

    ***** Advanced *****
All defaults set here (except for extensive logging enabled)

    ******* EPG *******
Prevent standby when EPG grabbing - (this seems to be the problematic option for me - see below)
Wakeup system for EPG grabbing at 02:00
    Everyday is enabled
    Run command: c:\support\daily.cmd

    ****** Processes *******
    SetupTV, Configuration, XMLTVGUI, defrag

    ****** Network Monitor *******
    disabled

The first problem I am having is:

If I enable prevent standby when EPG grabbing, the system never goes into standby. Is this option only applicable to DVB EPG grabbing, and not external commandline grabbing/downloading?

As you can see from my first post, XMLTV plugin confirms the import has completed, and tells PowerScheduler. But Powersceduler is still waiting for EPGHandler to confirm its complete???

The second problem I have, is that it seems the external "run command before internal handlers are triggered" program is run each time TV service is started - and not just at the 02:00 grab time?

This means that when I have to restart the TV Service (for one of several reasons), an EPG download and import runs??

I have done a quick and dirty solution to prevent this, by putting some poor logic in my external cmd file, which only allows it to run once a day.

    Logs to follow....

    Thanks,

    J.
