When the iTunes plugin is enabled, all it means is that iTunes is used as the player. You can't actually see your library, playlists, etc from MP.

The EASY way to use it is to go into MP configuration, Music.
1) Create a music share that points to the folder you iTunes library is stored in.
2) in File Types, make sure you add the .m4p extensions (assuming you buy anything from iTunes music store)

Now when you browse through the Shares view of Music, you'll see all the folders and files. Select and play.

If you want to get fancier, you'll have to scan your library. It'll pick up the tags (same tags as iTunes) for title, artist, etc. Then the database views will work for you, too. This is especially useful if your library is spread across multiple locations - you could scan all locations and see them in the same place.

Not sure I understand your last question - you are trying to delete stuff from the music database? Easiest thing is to just delete the whole database file - musicdatabasev10.db3.

yeah thanks for the reply.
i managed to get the library working fair enough although i have to figure out to get the browsing from showing me an alphabetical list. wouldn't mind just having a filmstrip style layout with all my albums

    m4p and wma database

    Hi there,
my brother has a database with bought m4p songs and with wma song (and mp3 and flac and so on). I enabled the itunes-Plugin for the m4p songs, because otherwise they would not play. Only the itunes songs will now be played by itunes and all other songs by the standard mediaportal output.
My brother now told me, that it sometimes occures that one of the players does not stop when starting the other player. (Meaning that if you switch from a m4p song to a wma song, suddenly both songs are being played.)
We would rather have one player playing all songs.
Does anyone know how to configure mediaportal doing that? Can anyone, who also uses bought m4ps tell me their settings?

    Thanks in advance.

    Andi

Edit: We just tried it agan: Playing an wma song and then (while playing) switching to m4p lets the wma song continue to play and starts also the m4p song. Vice versa it works correctly. I need help.
