hello good day

i have a TV Tuner modeled ITV-800 it works fine while using TV Expert Software.
But my problem now is that when i search for tv channels media portal replies TvServer does not support this model

Is there a way to support this model?

Welcome to the forum.
We support many cards, so it is surprising to hear that yours is not supported. Have you checked our list of supported TV cards - does your card meet the requirements listed there? If it does or you're not sure then can you please post some logs? There are good instructions for that in the link in my signature...

PS: remember that you can't use the tuner in more than one application at a time. If you are trying to use an analog tuner that doesn't have hardware encoding then you need to install a supported software encoder (and I'd recommend using MP 1.2.0b).

hello good day. my problem on "TvServer does not support this model" has been solve now it scan channels and it found 4 channels.

BUT now i have encountered new error, when i preview the search channel an error pop up and it states "preview failed:no video audio detected"

my tuner is analog

Hi again

Does your tuner require a cable to be connected to the soundcard for audio to work? Those tuners are not supported...

The logs look okay, but you didn't answer my question: does your tuner require a cable to be connected to the soundcard for audio to work?

From the pictures that I've seen on Google, the card has aerial input, aerial output, IR (remote) input, s-video input, audio input (blue), composite video input, *and audio output* (green) connectors on the back panel, and an internal audio connection too. If you have to plug either the internal connection or the green connector at the back into your sound card to get audio in TV Expert then your tuner is not compatible with MediaPortal. The reason for not supporting those kinds of tuners is that MediaPortal could potentially prevent any other software from using the sound card, which would be bad...

nope i never connected any cable wire from my tv tuner to my sound card, except the cable from the anthena and from my speaker to my tuner. i have tried watching tv on tv expert and it plays local tv shows with audio pluged directly into my tv tuner..

ahh one thing i just found out that when i click preview only an audio from the channel plays but no video, but it still state "preview failed:no audio/video detected"...

also i have tried to play tv on media portal but only audio from the local channel, no video.. and in a few minutes an error apear "preview failed:no audio/video detected"

did i miss some configuration?

i mean from my speaker, i have connected my speakers/earphone to the green port/audio output on my tv tuner

yes, there is an audio/video output in tv expert, tv expert plays everything, i guess its because tv expert is a software package from my tuner.

but when i play in media portal and error occur "preview failed" but there is an audio, even in the tv server configuration..

also there is a comment below in MP when i play TV "no data available

Okay, I understand the problem in MP. I'm beginning to think that your tuner is not supported. One last question:

If you unplug the green tuner audio output, do you still hear audio in TV Expert?

If the answer is "no" then your tuner is definitely not supported...
