Since I have solidly decided to stay with MediaPortal, Im now looking at converting a few of my bigger client machines to smaller, more compact machines. Last weekend I combined my Windows Server 2008 & MediaPortal Server into one physical server running Windows Server 2008. So far it has worked out great.

For my client machines, I have purchased an Intel ITX DG945FC Motherboard and a Silverstone LC05 Case. I went with the Intel motherboard because I already have 2GB of DDR2 memory and a Core 2 Duo 2.5Ghz processor. I went with the LC05 case because it will accept the full 5.25 external Blu-ray drive and WD 250GB harddrive I already own, and it is one of the thinnest ITX cases made. If the first build goes good I will contine on and replace the second one in the den with the same build.

I will post more information Wednesday when the parts arrive....

    Okay,
After a big failure with the Silverstone LC-05 case, I have started a new build. The LC-05 case did not have the power requirements or the space (height) for the Intel motherboard.

I am still hanging on to the Intel Motherboard, but have now ordered the Silverstone LC19 case. Its still low profile, but will be able to service the power requirements of the Intel motherboard. The case is a little wider and will only handle a slimeline drive, but should be perfect for a slim client with a lot of power.
