Recorded shows are unwatchable because of jerky playback. It's like a lot of frames are missed. I've had 1 that came out alright, but 3 others were bad.
I read about this in an old bug report, but didn't find a solution.

I think that we will need more information to enable some useful suggestions as to the cause.

For example, I assume that you are recording from a TV card? What type?
Do you ever get the same "jerky playback" when you watch live TV?
What happens with Timeshifting ON and OFF?
Have you tried playing these recorded files directly with Windows MediaPlayer 10?
Have you tried other video and audio codecs/filters?
What is different about the one recording that is OK - was it a different channel, or time, or just lucky?
What video card driver version are you using?
Has this always happened, or just with v0.2.1.0?

Sorry, I edited my post to show the TV card. It's a Hauppauge 150MCE. Driver 2.0.43.24054.
WMP 9 pauses at the bad frames, or whatever causes the jerkiness.
Live TV is fine, timeshifting or not.
I think the one recording was just luck.
It never happened with older versions of MediaPortal.
I haven't tried other codecs, but since it happens during playback with different players & on different computers, I would think that the problem's in the recording, not playback.

I have had the same problem with my two tv-cards, sapphire teatrix 550 and hauppage hvr 1300. I thought maybe it the computer genereated more heat because of more animations and general development demanding more resources, and thereby cause artifacts, but I may ofcourse be wrong. I also experienced the stuttering just the last weeks, as far as I could see from the svn with all the fancy animations (which by the way look real cool).

I'm dooing som troubleshooting now, for instance using a network hd instead of the one in the mediacomputer, and opening the case. At first I thought it helped, as monday evening and tuesdays recordings were all fine, but come wednesday all recordings were stuttering again... This may also be affected by use of TV and reciever, there is a possibility that they weren't on monday and tuesday, but they were on on wednsday.

I'm also going to give the new TV-engine (11740 and svn 11739) a new go, but I suspect i won't get my sapphire card going. Next step after that is to do a clean install of an older svn and see if that helps.

Any further suggestions?

The recordings stutter on WMP 11 on a different conputer as well, and it stutters on the same place every time, indicating it is the recording, not the playback. Live TV-seems fine, but there was some stuttering during TS.

Thinking about it, I think the 1 recording that came out okay was right after a reboot. The recording after that stuttered again.
I'll have to do some experimenting also.
I'd try the new tv engine, but it doesn't support set-top satellite boxes.

In MediaPortal setup, I set the frame rate to 29.97, but when I check the MediPortal log, it says it's set to 25. I've been using Hauppauge Tweak Tool, but I don't see anywhere to set the frame rate. I would assume that this is causing the missed frames. Where can this be set?
